Now that you have installed your wordpress blog, there are a few things that you need to do immediately to establish your blogs SEO to acheive optimal results.
1. Permalinks Settings - Set to 'Custom Structure' /%postname%/ -- This will structure ALL of your articles with an SEO friendly URL structure. Example: http://yourwebsite.com/categoryname/make-google-millions
2. Writing Settings - Add a few update services to the list. When you publish a new post, WordPress automatically notifies the following site update services.
3. Reading Settings - For each article in a feed, show 'Summary Text'. WHy give away the whole article. It is now common knowledge that blog material is hijacked via feeds, so you can protect your material by offering only a summary in the feed.

7. How to get some immediate traffic and backlinks. Search around google for blogs that have PR4 or higher PageRank. Visit these blogs and offer an informative reply to a blog post on said website. DO NOT include your link in the body of the post reply, only use your link in the post login box. Many bloggers filter or delete post replies with links. Your name will auto link in the post reply itself. Keep it simple.
8. Monitor your ads via your adsense panel. DO NOT continually edit the ad settings in expectation of immediate result changes. You will need to make changes bi-monthly to get the most accurate results and informative info to direct said results.
